Attending a ball is even more exciting when it means you are also supporting a good cause. Last weekend, Hog Roast Barrowford catered for a winter charity ball. The ball was thrown to raise money for a local wildlife preservation group. Dean, the organiser, got in touch with our catering manager to discuss his plans for the charity ball. Dean was set on having a formal, sit-down meal and so it was agreed that the menu from our hog roast dining experience would be perfect.

On arrival, guests were served a selection of canapés by our experienced waiting staff. They enjoyed the choice of pan-seared fillet of beef, beer-battered mini fish and chips, roasted duck, chicken liver parfait and roasted halloumi and tomato crostini. For the main course, the attendees had a choice between a whole-roasted free-range pig and a whole-roasted free-range turkey. The meat-free alternatives were BBQ-pulled jackfruit in a bun and grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers. Served alongside freshly made colourful salads, our famous coleslaw and buttered new potatoes. To end the menu on a sweet note, guests had two desserts to choose from, summer pudding and chocolate torte.
