Do you know what’s more exciting than a birthday celebration? TWO birthday celebrations packed into one!
With Georgina turning 30 and her dad turning 60, the pair decided to merge their two major milestones into one epic party, and the results were rootin’ tootin’ barn-burnin’ brilliant. Yes, if you haven’t guessed by now, the duo planned a cowboy-themed event, which the guests fully embraced. There were cowboy hats, bandana neck ties, western-style boots and denim on denim, on denim!
They were blessed with good weather on the day, but had planned ahead by setting up a marquee (just in case) and a live band had everyone tapping their toes along to country beats. But what really tied it all together (not that we’re biased, or anything) was the food!
When it comes to cowboy grub, there’s no better team than Hog Roast Leyland, and we pulled out all the stops to give Georgina and her dad a birthday to remember. Hearty, wholesome and tasty enough to have you licking your fingers clean, our Southern Slow Roast Menu hit all the right notes.
At the heart of the feast was our trio of meats. Pre-marinated in our secret recipe rubs and cooked low and slow for several hours, our Texan 24 hour beef brisket, Cajun-spiced whole roasted chickens and fall off the bone Louisiana-style sticky pork ribs ensured plenty of variety for all 150 guests. Plus there were grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers (served without halloumi for the vegans), paired with wraps, zesty tzatziki dip and sweet and punchy sweet chilli sauce.
For those looking to level-up their plates, Hog Roast Leyland had just the thing. Whether guests were seeking a sweet and smokey BBQ glaze or hot and fiery Cajun hot pepper sauce, we had the perfect drizzle for every palate.
They were also welcome to fill their boots with a choice of sides, including Greek salad, potato salad with a pickle kick and a crispy blend of classic and sweet potato fries. To fit the rustic theme, Hog Roast Leyland served everything on wooden bamboo crockery with matching cutlery and good quality napkins.
Everyone had a fantastic time at this party, especially Georgina and her dad, who won’t forget their milestone birthdays anytime soon!
